Summary/Objective
The Sales Representative is responsible to sell the full complement of products and services Beard Equipment Company offers to assigned customer base.
 
Essential Functions

· Ability to engage with assigned prospects and customers to develop a positive and professional rapport while gathering information of customer needs to move the sales process forward
· Determine equipment and aftermarket needs of all assigned customers
· Generate and exceed minimum sales volumes and GP levels as assigned by management
· Meet face-to-face with a minimum of 20-30 different customers per week and maintain account call frequency according to established program
· Must promote and sell maintenance and extend warranty plans to customer base
· Know competitive equipment FABs
· Complete and submit weekly call reports electronically into account management system
· Submit bi-weekly expense reports
· Continually engage in professional self-improvement activities on own time as well as participation on any assigned company and manufacture sponsored programs
· Be familiar and proficient with the sales order process from generation of order or quote to equipment delivery
· Complete all stages of the 'sale' including delivery, receiving full payment, and follow up after the sale
· Maintain all company property in good working condition, including vehicle, laptops, cell phones, etc.
· Develop thorough working knowledge of sales and aftermarket process and procedures in order to facilitate and be held accountable for providing world class customer support
· Maintain good driving record as required by local laws and insurance requirements
· Responsible to attend all required company meetings and functions, as assigned
· Ability to provide quotes, bids, or professional proposals using company provided electronic tools
· Ability to retrieve information on company and manufacturers practices and programs on all products and services required for your assigned customer groups
· Perform all additional duties that are requested from management from time to time which are not specifically listed above

· Maintain positive and professional working relationships with coworkers, management, and vendors with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service
· Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner
· Follow all safety rules and regulations and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and the employee handbook
· Participate in all company driven communication efforts including department meetings, electronic communications (email and text) and other related efforts
· Proactively seek and participate in available company sponsored training to develop skills and knowledge
· Maintain prompt and regular attendance according to department and company policies

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibility.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works out in the field at customer locations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear at moderate noise levels.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Normal days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. but other times as needed.

Job Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years' Sales experience in related field.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledgeable of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services.
  • Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships and maintain them over time.
  • Influential with strong sales orientation.
  • Ability to persuade others to change their minds or behaviors.
  • Possesses a clean driving record and current DOT certification.
  • Computer proficient and knowledgeable of how to resource information via computers.
